Overview

Pinky Blue Grooming is a small business in Yonkers, NY offering personalized dog grooming services. The project goal was to design an elegant, mobile-friendly website that builds trust, showcases services visually, and enables easy appointment scheduling for pet owners.

The Challenge

The client needed a digital presence to capture local traffic, elevate brand identity, and streamline customer engagement, particularly appointment scheduling.

Pain Points Identified:

  • No online brand presence

  • Inconsistent service messaging

  • Clients relied on word-of-mouth

  • Manual appointment setting via phone/text

  • Local pet owners (mainly dog owners) in Westchester County

  • Mobile-first users (80%+ based on local business benchmarks)

Competitive Analysis

Benchmarked grooming sites and local competitors. Key takeaways:

  • Use of warm color palettes

  • Strong visual appeal (before/after shots)

  • Embedded booking tools

UX Strategy

Information Architecture (IA)

Structured the site into the following:

User Flow

    • Home

    • Services

    • Booking

    • About

    • Testimonials

    • Contact

    1. Land on homepage

    2. View grooming options

    3. Learn about the brand

    4. Book appointment via calendar

    5. Submit contact message if needed

  • Frustration: Complicated logins and technical jargon.

UX

Wireframes

Designed low-fidelity wireframes to structure:

  • Clear service categories

  • Mobile-friendly layouts

  • “Book Appointment” CTA in sticky nav

Reflection

This project was an exciting opportunity to combine playful UI design with efficient UX structure. By leaning into visual storytelling and streamlining booking, I was able to deliver a user experience that delights and converts. I also deepened my WIX Studio skills to rapidly prototype and deploy responsive designs.
